Carpe Diem Wins Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland
Las Vegas, NV - The $500,000 Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity was run on Saturday, October 4 from Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. WinStar Farm and Stonestreet Stables' 2-1 favorite Carpe Diem was much the best on the day, winning by an impressive 6 1/4 lengths in the field of 12 juveniles. Carpe Diem earned an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile with the win. Mr. Z finished a distant second, while Bold Conquest finished 5 3/4 lengths farther back in third. Tough Customer, Keen Ice, Conquest Tsunami, Firespike, Sharm, Hashtag Bourbon, W V Jetsetter, Dekabrist, and Ike Walker completed the order of finish.
