Devine Aida Wins Herecomesthebride Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Las Vegas, NV - Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach Florida was supposed to be the scene of three graded stakes races on Saturday, February 28 but just one was run after heavy rain caused the postponement of the $200,000 Grade 2 Fasig-Tipton Swale Stakes and the $150,000 Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes. Those races have been rescheduled for March 7. In the only graded stakes action on the day Stronach Stables' Devine Aida posted victory at 9-5 odds in the $150,000 Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes - by 6 3/4 lengths for her fourth straight win. Sweet Swingin finished second at 2-1 odds in the field of just six while Temper Mint Patty came in third as the slight 9-5 favorite. Arella Princess, Maddizaskar, and Tumminia completed the order of finish. Pine Needles, Quality Rocks, and Consumer Credit scratched.
