Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes was contested at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida on Saturday, January 10 - a 1 1/16 mile turf test for older horses. Al Shaqab Racing's, Todd Pletcher trained 9-5 favorite Mshawish earned his first graded victory on North American soil over a field of 12 - by just a neck. 13-1 shot Grand Tito finished a good second with Fredericksburg getting up for third at 46-1 odds. 3-1 second choice Za Approval ran fourth, with Lochte, Mosler, Tesseron, Silver Freak, Mucho Mas Macho, Mutin, Shiva Ryan, and Howe Great completing the order of finish. Golden Rifle and Protonico scratched.
