Naples Bay Wins Marshua's River Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Las Vegas, NV - The $100,000 Grade 3 Marshua's River Stakes was contested at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida this past Saturday, January 4. Naples Bay utilized a very good stretch run to claim victory at 8-1 odds in the 1 1/16 mile test for older fillies and mares. It was Naples Bay's first win in seven starts and first victory in over a year. Somali Lemonade was a good second while Angelica Zapata was third. 5-2 favorite Abaco rallied from sixth to finish fourth while Deanaallen'skitten, Silverette, Floral Romance, Viva Rafaela, Rose to Gold, and Poetic Kid completed the order of finish. Miss Montreal scratched and Dreaming of Sophia was a Main Track Only Entry.
