International Star Wins LeComte Stakes at Fair Grounds
Las Vegas, NV - Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, Louisiana was the scene of the $200,000 Grade 3 Lecomte Stakes on Saturday, January 17 - a Road to the Kentucky Derby qualifier for three year old Derby hopefuls. Ken & Sarah Ramsey's 9-1 shot International Star was best on the day - winning by 2 1/2 lengths and gathering 10 qualifying points toward the Run for the Roses in May. He now joins El Kabeir and Calculator as ten point winners on this year's Derby trail. War Story finished second with Tiznow R J got up for third at 4-1 odds. Completing the order of finish were Another Lemon Drop, 7-2 second choice Savoy Stomp, Hero of Humor, 7-2 favorite Eagle, Dekabrist, Runhappy, Killingit, and Four Leaf Chief.
