Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California played host to the $200,000 G2 Del Mar Mile Handicap on Sunday, August 20. Horses three years old and upward raced one mile on Del Mar's turf track. Al and Sandee Kirkwood's 8-1 shot Blackjackcat barely held on at the wire but did enough to claim the narrow victory - by just a head over the hard-charging 7-2 third choice Vyjack who finished a quality second. 3-1 second choice Om finished third in the field of six while 2-1 favorite Midnight Storm was a disappointing fourth and Le Ken and Bal a Bali completed the order of finsih.
