Union Strike Wins Del Mar Debutante at Del Mar Race Track
The $300,000 Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante was run Saturday, September 3 at Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California - a seven furlong dirt test for two year fillies. 7-1 shot Union Strike posted the slight upset in the field of seven for her first ever stakes score. Heavy favorite and full sister to American Pharoah - 8-5 favorite American Cleopatra finished second, 2 1/4 lengths back while 5-2 second choice Champagne Room got in for third- a nose back of second. Noted and Quoted finished fourth while Miss Southern Miss, Morganite, and Holy Mosey completed the order of finish.
