Las Vegas, NV - The $400,000 Grade 1 Eddie Read Stakes was contested on Del Mar turf on Saturday, July 18 - a 1 1/8 mile race for horses three years old and upward. On a soggy track Sam Britt and Michael House's 9-2 third betting choice Gabriel Charles continued his Del Mar dominance with a 3 3/4 length win. Twentytwentyvision finished second in his first career stakes start, followed by grade I winner Finnegans Wake another 1 1/2 lengths back in third. Power Ped finished fourth, followed by 6-5 favorite Midnight Storm, Big Cazanova, and Maltes, to complete the order of finish.
