Avanzare, off a seven month layoff prevailed for his second Grade 2 score in a row - this time by a half length over Talco who finished a good second. The longest shot in the field, 41-1 shot Do Giorgio came third with Kulik Lodge fourth, followed by 3-2 favorite Bal a Bali, Jimmy Bouncer, Winning Prize, Marchman, and Wilkinson. Pure Tactics did not finish.
