Tom's Tribute Wins Del Mar Mile at Del Mar
Las Vegas, NV - Del Mar in the great state of California was the scene of the $250,000 Grade 2 Del Mar Mile on Sunday, August 24. Second choice Tom's Tribute took advantage of an uncharacteristic performance by 2-5 favorite and won by a length over 9-1 shot Rock Me Baby and Handsome Mike who was sent off at 30-1 odds. Tom's Tribute in turn earned an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile in November. Obviously, the 2-5 favorite finished a disappointing fourth with longshots Tigah, He Be Fire N Ice, and Alpha Bulletcompleting the order of finish.
