Blacktype Wins Knickerbocker Stakes at Belmont Park

Belmont Park in Elmont, New York played host to the $200,000 G2 Knickerbocker Stakes on Monday, September 9. Horses three years old and upward took to Belmont Park's Inner turf track and raced 1 1/8 miles. Jump Sucker Stable's, French bred Blacktype recorded his second straight win on this track - this time by one length at 5-1 odds. 9-2 second betting choice Muqtaser rallied for second in the field of nine, a neck in front of Hello Don Julio who got in for third at 5-1. Spring Quality finished 2 1/4 lengths back in fourth, while Camelot Kitten, Smooth Daddy, 2-1 favorite Forge, Sir Dudley Digges, and The Grey Gatsby completed the order of finish. Mark My Style and Delta Prince were scratched, as was main track only entrant Vulcan's Forge.
