Fish Trappe Road Wins Dwyer Stakes at Belmont Park

Belmont Park in Elmont, New York was the scene of the $500,000 Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes on Saturday, July 8. Three year olds took to Belmont Park's dirt track and raced one mile. Martin Racing Stable's 3-1 second choice Fish Trappe Road finally got over the hump for his first graded stakes score by 1 1/4 lengths after a second place finish on the Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes one start prior. 6-5 favorite Economic Model finished second in the field of eight while Tale of S'avall closed well for third at 9-1 odds. Voluntario, Laoban, Unbridled Outlaw, Swipe, and The Great Whiteway completed the order of finish.
