Five Iron Wins Fort Marcy Stakes at Belmont Park
Las Vegas, NV - Belmont Park turf in Elmont, New York played host to the $150,000 Grade 3 Fort Marcy Stakes on Saturday May 3. 19-1 shot Five Iron provided the upset in the 1 1/8 mile test for older fillies and mares, leading every step and prevailing by one length. Summer Front finished second while Tetradrachm finished another two lengths back in third. Speaking of Which, Unbridled Ocean, Sky Blazer, and Swift Warrior followed, with Ghurair, the 6-5 favorite was a disappointing eighth. Manighar and Seal Cove completed the order of finish.
