Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 2 New York Stakes was run on Belmont Park turf Saturday, June 29. Bill Mott trained 15-1 shot Starformer came up with the improbable victory by 1 3/4 lengths. A close photo for second determined the second place finisher - Lady of Shamrock came on late to take the place by a head while third-place went to Dream Peace, the 19-10 favorite in the field of seven older fillies and mares. Minakshi, Mystical Star, Regalo Mia, Anjaz, and Tannery completed the order of finish.
