Wonder Gadot Wins Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct

The $250,000 G2 Demoiselle Stakes was contested Saturday, December 2 at Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, New York. Two-year old fillies took to Aqueduct's dirt track and raced 1 1/8 miles. Gary Barber's 8-5 race favorite Wonder Gadot bounced back into the winner's column after keeping her rivals close and kicking away to the impressive 3 3/4 length score. Wonder Gadot earned 10 qualifying points toward next year's Kentucky Oaks with the win. 5-1 co-third choice Maurer Power finished second in the field of eight, three lengths ahead of 10-1 shot Layla Noor who got in for third. 2-1 second choice Daisy was fourth while Held Accountable, Indy Union, Stakes On a Plane, and Vindictive Ways completed the order of finish.
