Effinex Wins Excelsior Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack
Las Vegas, NV - The $200,000 Grade 3 Excelsior Stakes was contested at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York this past Saturday, April 25 - a 1 1/4 miles test for older horses. 6-1 shot Effinex upset the field by three quarters of a length for his first graded stakes score. Red Rifle was second and 3-5 favorite Wicked Strong wound up a somewhat disappointing third. Micromanage, Turco Bravo, and Stormin Monarcho completed the order of finish. North Slope and Cousin Stephen scratched.
