HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Undefeated Three Rules and Cajun Delta Dawn breezed at Gulfstream Park Saturday in preparation for Florida Sire Stakes sweep attempts next Saturday on a program featuring eight stakes worth $1.6 million in purses.

Shade Tree Thoroughbreds’ Three Rules breezed five furlongs in 59.56 seconds, the fastest of 41 workouts recorded at the distance, for a scheduled start in the $500,000 FSS In Reality. Curtis Mikkelsen’s Cajun Delta Dawn breezed five furlongs in 1:01.70 for the $500,000 FSS My Dear Girl.

The David Fawkes-trained Cajun Delta Dawn has won all four of her career starts, including the first two legs of the FSS series: the $200,000 Desert Vixen and $300,000 Susan’s Girl.

“Cajun Delta Dawn worked great. She worked in company with Surprise Wedding and both fillies worked super,” said Fawkes, who saddled Surprise Wedding for a 4 ½-length debut victory Aug. 24. “I imagine Cajun Delta Dawn will be favored nest week. She hasn’t missed a beat since her last race.”

The Jose Pinchin-trained Three Rules, who has won his first four starts by a combined 21 lengths, captured the $200,000 FSS Dr. Fager by seven lengths and the $300,000 FSS Affirmed by 5 ½ lengths.

The Pinchin-trained Front Loaded, who finished second behind Three Rules in the Affirmed after closing from last, also breezed sharply at Gulfstream Park Saturday, credited with the second-fastest clocking (59.65).
