Trainer Marialice Coffey (Flora Dora): "We had faith in her. She's a big, very well-within herself filly. She's always been very relaxed about everything so we thought it was worth a try."
(How long race been on radar): "Since the beginning of time, since they broke her. They had this race picked for her and so they weregoing on with this one. Even though we didn't do what we wanted to do at Saratoga, we at least wanted to keep up with the plan and come here and the rest is history."
"There have been zero setbacks. She's never been sick, never stubbed her foot. She's just been solid. Everything we've asked her to do she's done.
"She shipped down very, very well, very relaxed. We trained here, she schooled in gate. the staff has been marvelous. The horse arrived Monday."
Jockey Matthew Rispoli (Flora Dora): "She broke good. I just let her settle and go at her own pace. When I got to the 5/8 pole, they started backing up to me. I was a little worried I was going to start clipping heels, and around the far turn, things got tight. I was looking for a hole and I couldn't find one until we straightened down the lane. I just tucked her outside and she just ran.
"By this horse's works and the way she ran first time out - she got beat eight lengths at Saratoga, and it's a very tough meet up there - coming down here, I thought she would like the track."
Coffey said she's been training since 1992. She started at Belmont Park, "moved upstate," and has been at Saratoga the past two years.
