Aidan O’Brien (trainer, Hit It a Bomb, 1st) – “I’m absolutely delighted. He won his maiden at the Curragh very nicely. Ryan (Moore) knew him. We were always looking forward to coming to Keeneland. When we got the outside draw we were worried and when the ground changed we were also worried. Ryan said he would let him really relax, because he knew what he could do. This was always the plan he’s a real classy miler. ”
Mark Casse (trainer, Airoforce, 2nd) – “At first, Airoforce wasn't running at all and I was really concerned, and then he kicked in. Then I thought he might win it. I've got to tell you that ‘Daddyo’ ran well too. He got held up and came really running late. All you can ask for is for them to run their race and I'm proud of them both. I sure would have liked to win. We'll win one some day.”
Julien Leparoux (jockey, Airoforce, 2nd) – “It went good. I was sitting and then made a big run. The winner just came by us at the end. The ground is a little loose. It's not like a yielding where you go deep, but it's loose and sandy, so there's a lot of kickback.”
Richard Fahey (trainer, Birchwood (Ire), 3rd) – “Everything went right. He just got nailed on the line and ran out of petrol. There are no plans at the moment apart from getting him home to Malton (training yard).
“He’s run on all sorts of ground, but he’ll be a better colt on quicker ground. He’s going back to Yorkshire, England, where I train. No real plans beyond that right now.”
James Doyle (jockey, Birchwood (Ire), 3rd) – “They were going a bit quick and I was a bit keen around the first turn. I had a good trip.I can’t complain. I got pushed three-wide early on to stay right on to heels, I just had to ease him into a bit of space, so I had a good trip down the stretch and didn’t get stopped. The horse finished off really well, I’m really pleased. It is very similar to the grass we have at home this time of year.”
